If you realize you need to have teeth replaced, you want to compare your options. You probably wonder how dental implants compare to dentures and how they differ in price. Despite the average expense of dental implants, we at Great Smiles Family Dentistry, serving Toledo, OH and the surrounding area, make the expense as affordable to our patients as we can.
The price of one dental implant costs between $1,000 and $3,000 approx. If you need multiple dental implants, you can expect to pay anywhere between $3,000 to $30,000, possibly over $50,000 if you need an entire set of dental implants. The price of either the upper or lower set of dentures ranges between $950 to $3,150. If you require both an upper and lower set, you can expect to pay between $1,900 and $6,300.
Dental implants look much more natural. You don’t have to worry about them slipping out of place, so you won’t have any difficulty speaking. You never have to worry about removing the implants and cleaning them since you brush them just like you would your natural teeth. Moreover, they last longer than dentures. The American Dental Association (ADA) reveals dentures normally last five to eight years while dental implants may last fifteen years or longer. In fact, with proper care, you may keep your dental implants for a lifetime without ever having to replace them.
Many insurance companies do cover part of the cost of dental implants. They won’t cover the full amount, so you’ll still be responsible for a portion of the expense. Your out-of-pocket costs vary based on your insurance; some companies cover less than 10 percent while others cover 50 percent.
You can pay monthly for dental implants. After we determine how much your insurance covers for the dental implants as well as how much you plan to put toward the implants up front, we devise a monthly payment plan. We make sure the payments are at a price that works for you, making dental implants obtainable for many patients that may have not been able to afford them otherwise.
With proper care, many patients keep their dental implants for a lifetime. Generally, an implant lasts between 10 to 15 years before you’ll notice normal wear and tear affecting them. However, if you take care of your teeth and visit us at least every six months for routine cleanings, your dental implants may last even longer than that.
Just like your own teeth, you must visit us for routine appointments for cleanings. We also perform routine maintenance on your implants like tightening screws and replacing the clips. The expense isn’t tremendous, and just like the initial price of implants, we work with our patients to ensure they can receive the care they need at an affordable rate.
